We visited the Paradox Museum in Knightsbridge. It was an interesting experience and Elijah really enjoyed it.
So the boring bits first, the closest station is Knightsbridge, ticket prices seem to raise and fluctuate according to how busy it is and what days you go on, but kids tickets start from £16.50 and adult tickets start from £22.00. To me this a little pricy, I only have Elijah but I always am mindful that lots of families are made up of more than 1 child.
I purchased the tickets via the Fever app (side note, I have found this app really easy to use and there seems to be a lot of stuff on there, I will be doing a review on it soon), and was able to just show the tickets in the app when we arrived.
When purchasing the ticket, there is the option to add the zero gravity room. There is an extra cost of £5.00 for this. This was Elijah and I's favourite part so I would recommend it.
Ok so now I've explained all that lets talk about the actual experience. I would say it takes about an hour to complete. To me it is more of an exhibition than a museum, but I guess that is a debate for another day. The whole point of the experience is optical illusions, but you don't just look at them, it is an immersive experience so you take part in them. See some examples below:
Going through the museum was fun, especially with Elijah whose mind was genuinely blown in some parts. The highlight for me though was the zero gravity room, it was fun. The aim is for you to feel like an astronaut and I would say they were successful in that! You are only in the room for a short time, but in that time I couldn't tell if I was the right way up or upside down, it was a really disorientating but fun experience.Â
Elijah really enjoyed his time at the museum and he gave it a thumbs up.
Overall we enjoyed ourselves and would recommend it. My criticism is that for the money, I think the exhibition should be bigger or take a little longer to get through (if you think of a museum in the traditional sense look how big the Natural History Museum is and it is free!), but it is definitely something different to do and sometimes it is nice to do something out of the ordinary.
