We can cross the circus off our bucket list! Me and Elijah visited Zippos circus, it is a travelling circus, so check out their website www.zippos.co.uk to find out if they are near you.
Ticket costs vary dependant on where you are sitting, we were in the Grandstand, which is just behind ring side which is the closest. For the Grandstand area adult tickets cost: £22.50 and children's tickets cost £18.50.
The show is two hours long, this includes a short intermission.
I personally was not very interested in the circus because I had visions of animals being treated badly and differently abled people being used as attractions. However, that’s a really old image of the circus and I’m happy to report that it was nothing like that.
In replacement of these acts were loads of varieties with the acts, these included lots of acrobatics and stuntmen, which really had Elijah mesmerised, he loved it. There were points where I thought some performances could have been a bit more polished or had slightly more variety but from a kids perspective it was definitely enough.
We went when it was relatively warm day but as it’s in a big tent I would advise warm clothes in the winter because it would be hard to keep it heated.
Seats are really close together, obviously that is so that they can fit as much people in as possible, but I wondered how a tall person would cope in that seating for a long period.
There were snacks available, popcorn, candy floss etc, these were reasonably priced. The website also says that they are happy for you to bring food in as long as it is not alcohol or in a glass bottle.
There was also the chance to buy some small light up toys, they had a light up fan and a light up unicorn toy which many kids around the audience seemed to be enjoying, and waved it around particularly when the lights were turned down in some of the acts.
Overall, we had a great day out and we would recommend that everyone experience the circus at least once.
Very immpressive.
